biography:
ExWHYZ is a group under EMI Records, formed in June 2022 by former EMPiRE members. Their concept is “”Dance your Dance.”” The group made their debut in August 2022 with the digital single “”Wanna Dance,”” produced by Shinichi Osawa. Shortly after, they released their first album, “”xYZ,”” on November 2, 2022, featuring contributions from various domestic and international creators. This was followed by their second album, “”xANADU,”” on April 19, 2023. Just nine months after their formation, they successfully held their first solo concert at Nippon Budokan on May 13, 2023, titled “”ExWHYZ LIVE at BUDOKAN the FIRST STEP.”” That same year, they embarked on ExWHYZ TOUR 2023 “”eLATION,”” which spanned five months from July to December, including performances in live houses, a Zepp tour featuring Seiho, Shinichi Osawa, and yahyel as guest performers, and a club tour that featured all-night performances. In March 2024, they collaborated with Seiho for a split tour titled “”ExWHYZ presents ‘SeihoWHYZ'””, with stops in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka. From May to July, they embarked on “”ExWHYZ TOUR 2024 ‘Futura Free+’ ‘Reinforce’,”” featuring guest musicians Shin Sakiura and Masateru Hori. In December 2024, they will hold “”ExWHYZ TOUR 2024 ‘HOPE’,”” a five-city solo tour with the current lineup of yu-ki, mayu, maho, and mikina. Their music has been shaped by numerous renowned creators, including Shinichi Osawa, Kenmochi Hidefumi (Wednesday’s Campanella), Seiho, Shin Sakiura, Mil Shinoda + Kento Yamada (yahyel), and 80KIDZ. Their highly adaptable sound, with dance music at its core, combined with their cohesive yet free-spirited live performances, has received widespread acclaim. Looking ahead, their irregular all-night live project will officially become a regular event, starting with its first edition at Spotify O-EAST on April 5, 2025. Following this, they will embark on “”ExWHYZ TOUR 2025 ‘(unfinished) odds and ends,'”” an 11-city nationwide tour kicking off in May 2025.
