Introduction to WACK Groups: GANG PARADE

GANG PARADE is an 11-member idol group themed around the concept of a ‘Playground for Everyone.’ As of January 2025, the 11 members are YAMAMACHIMIKI, YUMENOYUA, CAN GP MAIKA, COCO PARTIN COCO, YUI GA DOCKSON, TSUKINOUSAGI, KILA MAY, CA NON, CHANGBABY, NARUHAWORLD, and AINASTAR.
The group was originally formed in July 2014 as Planime by early BiS members Saki Kamiya and Mari Mizuta. On 1 June 2015, they changed their name to POP, an acronym for Period Of Plastic 2 Mercy. Subsequently, on 17 June 2016, the group adopted the name GANG PARADE. After various lineup changes, the group now consists of 11 members.
In their early days, GANG PARADE frequently undertook physical endurance projects inspired by BiS. These included a 200km relay race alongside BiSH and a solo live performance immediately following Saki Kamiya’s completion of a 100km marathon. The group has also seen unexpected shifts within WACK, such as the sudden addition of COCO PARTIN COCO, YUI GA DOCKSON, and TERASHIMA YUKA, former members of SiS(BiS’s official rival group)which went on disbandment the day after their live debut.
At the end of March 2020, GANG PARADE split into two groups, GO TO THE BEDS and PARADISES, operating separately until 31 December 2021. On 1 January 2022, a newspaper advertisement announced the re-launch of GANG PARADE. With just two days of rehearsals, the group staged a hurried live performance to mark their restart.
Their debut song, Plastic 2 Mercy, an EDM-style track reminiscent of Twenty One Pilots’ Car Radio, explored new possibilities beyond traditional rock sounds. It remains their signature song, even as the group’s name and members have evolved. Including the Planime era, the group has performed nearly 150 songs, spanning emotional rock ballads, digital dance tracks, and alternative rock.
With more members than any other WACK group, GANG PARADE is known for their dynamic formations and dances, which highlight the unique personalities of each member.
