MAPA, the six-member idol group led by Megumi Koshoji (formerly of Maison book girl and BiS), will release their 7th single “Ame no Shiro / KESHI♡GOMU♡MAGIC” on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

As with previous releases, the single is produced and written by singer-songwriter Seiko Omori, with arrangement by sugarbeans. This marks MAPA’s first single since welcoming new members, showcasing a refreshed sound and spirit.

The record features Seiko Omori’s signature raw and emotionally stirring lyrics, paired with sugarbeans’ bold, forward-looking arrangements—designed specifically to push MAPA into their “next stage.” The music was recorded with a full live band: Hiroomi Shitara (guitar), Manabu Chigasaki (bass), Tomohiro Harigae (drums), sugarbeans (piano), and Omori herself on chorus.

To celebrate the release, MAPA will embark on a six-city “Ame no Shiro Tour”, their first tour with the new six-member formation.

MAPA is also set to perform in London this June as part of WACK in the U.K. Vol. 6.

“MAPA is a group that values the little distortions found in everyday life, so many of our songs are tied to the seasons. Since this release comes during Japan’s rainy season, I created a song around the theme of a ‘Rain Castle.’
While we often imagine girls living in fairytale castles overseas, I hope you’ll find beauty in the image of a girl in a Japanese castle, donning armor and defending her heart in solitude.”
